Teaching Methods
KUSOM emphasises more on learning by the students themselves rather than on teaching them. It adopts those teaching methods that encourage students’ active participation and involvement. The school main teaching tools are case methods, group discussion and project work assignments. Throughout the two-year program, students are motivated to define and analyze the problems or issues, evaluate options and make decision. Lecture, oral presentation, and other teaching methods like role playing, class room exercises, debates etc. are used to complement the case method and project works.

Evaluation
In each semester the faculty members responsible for the course do evaluation of academic performance of students in each course offered. The academic performance of the students will be judged through (a) Continuous In-semester Assessment and (b) End-semester Examination. The Continuous In-semester Assessment of the student will be made by the concerned faculty member in any or a combination of (a) Written test (b) Quizzes and oral test (c) Workshop practices (d) Assignments (e) Term paper (f) Project work (g) Case studies, analysis and discussion (h) Open Book test (i) Class participation and (j) Any other test deemed suitable by the concerned faculty member. The End-semester examination will normally be conducted in the classrooms according to the examination schedule notified by the concerned office.

The mode of evaluation in a given course is decided by the concerned faculty member who may assign varying weights to one or more of the evaluation modes. The faculty members will announce such weights in the beginning of the course.

Grading Mode
In each course, student will be evaluated on a 4-point scale as follows:

GradeAA-B+BB-C+CC-D+DF
Grade Point4.03.73.33.02.72.32.01.71.31.00.0

The grades indicate the quality of a student's performance as follows:
A = Outstanding
A - = Excellent
B+ = Very Good
B = Good
B- = Fair
C+ = Fair
C = Fair
C- = Poor
D+ = Poor
D = Poor
F = Failure

Apart from the letter grades mentioned above, the following letter grades can also be awarded

W = Withdrawn
IN = Incomplete
NC = Non Credit Course

'W' indicates that a student has officially withdrawn from a course without grade or penalty. During the regular semester, a student seeking to withdraw from a course must do so before the final examination with the permission of the concerned faculty member. 'W' may not be processed after the final examination. 'NC' indicates that student has officially attended a course till the end and completed it successfully but for which no credit will be given. A student can take non-credit course only in addition to the credit hours required for the fulfilment of EMBA degree. 'IN' indicates that a student has not completed all the assignments required in the particular course.

Failures, Probation and Dismissal
A student must maintain a Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) of 2.00 or above at the end of each semester, failing which he will be placed on academic probation and is required to improve his CGPA in the following semester. If he fails to improve his CGPA by the end of the following semester, he will be subject to dismissal from MBA program.

No student can graduate with 'F' in any particular course. If a student gets 'F' in any course, he is required to repeat at the course whenever offered by the school. If student gets more than two 'F's in any semester, he will be subject dismissal from the MBA program.

The concerned faculty member may sometime award a temporary grade 'IN' to a student for incomplete work. The case concerning 'IN' grade must be settled by the students in consultation with the concerned faculty member within four weeks from the date of announcement of grade in the course, failing which the concerned office will automatically convert the 'IN' grade into'F' grade.
